After the disappointing ruling by the UK Supreme Court, LonGBoaT appreciate that this is a time of fear and uncertainty for the transgender and non-binary community. We want to affirm that transgender women are women, transgender men are men, and non-binary people are valid and loved.
LonGBoaT want to use this time to remind the trans and non-binary community in Wakefield that we are here to provide you with support and advice. You are invited and welcome to join our regular support groups based at our Hub at Kirkgate Station:
- Queer Social, Thursdays 6pm-8pm
- Coffee Morning, Saturdays 11am-2pm
- Parents Groups, 1st & 2nd Tuesdays of the month 6pm
The LonGBoaT Hub at Kirkgate Station is also a hate crime reporting centre. We can offer a safe and supportive environment to report incidents of hate crime in partnership with West Yorkshire Police.
Please feel free to look at our website or send us a message for more information about local support and opportunities for LGBTQIA+ people across the Wakefield district -
