LonGBoaT Wakefield CIO is inviting you to be part of something exciting; 2025 Community Pride Fringe in Wakefield! Our steering group meeting (via MS Teams) will take place 15 April 2025, 1 PM – 2 PM.
Pride is more than just an afternoon in the pub. Therefore, on 10 August 2025 (usual 2nd Sunday of August), we’re doing things differently. Our Community Pride Fringe aims to create a vibrant, inclusive, and diverse series of events and activities across Wakefield centre, ensuring that Pride is accessible to all. Some of our ideas are:
Pride Breakfast – A welcoming start to the day
Family Arts & Crafts – Engaging activities for all ages
Pride Lunch – A space for community connections
Open Mic Session – Giving a platform to local voices/talents
Queer Talks – Talks throughout the day on specific topics
Closing Party – Celebrating Pride in an alternative way
We are seeking to collaborate with LGBT+ organisations and other supportive organisations and venues across Wakefield and West Yorkshire. This is to help plan, fundraise, organise, and run these events with us as part of a programme. Whether you’re a community group, business, arts organisation, or activist collective, we’d love to have you on board.
We’d love for you to join us. Initially, we’ll focus on city centre locations such as the LonGBoaT Hub @ Wakefield Kirkgate, Our House Café and Wakefield Centre, but we want to expand across the district in future years. However, if you are not in the centre and planning some events, please let us know and we can still add these to programme on the day.
Interested? Let’s make Community Pride Fringe something truly special.
If you would like to be added to the meeting invite list, please reply to this email or contact any of the LonGBoaT Wakefield Team
We look forward to working with you!
