LonGBoaT Wakefield is excited to announce an incredible opportunity for schools, colleges, community groups, and individuals to showcase their artistic talents at our Community Gallery at Wakefield Kirkgate Railway Station! As part of the Northern Trains Station Adoption scheme, and with the kind support of Grand Central, we are transforming a disused coffee kiosk into a vibrant space that will host rotating exhibitions, celebrating creativity in all its forms.

Whether you’re a painter, photographer, textile artist, digital creator, or someone who works with mixed media, we invite you to submit your artwork for consideration. Our goal is to offer a platform for everyone in the Wakefield District to express themselves and connect through art.

As an LGBT+ charity, we are especially eager to highlight voices from the LGBT+ community. This initiative is not just for LGBT+ artists, though—it’s for the entire Wakefield community to showcase their creativity and share their stories.

In addition, 2025 marks the 200th anniversary of modern rail passenger services, and we are thrilled to invite artists to contribute works that celebrate this incredible milestone. Whether it’s through painting, photography, or any other medium, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a nationwide celebration of our rail heritage.

We can’t wait to see your creativity come to life in this unique space. If you or your organisation are interested in exhibiting your work, we’d love to hear from you.
